Good afternoon, neighbors!
I hope everyone has dried out from the heavy rains and is keeping warm with this latest blast of winter weather we’ve had. I thought I’d take an opportunity to update everyone on a few things that have happened of late.
Steering Committee – Two of our Steering Committee members have found it necessary to resign their post. Most recently, Devan Baldwin and her family have purchased a home outside the neighborhood and will be moving in the coming months. I want to personally wish them all the best in their new home and to thank Devan for her commitment to the neighborhood and to the Steering Committee. Her involvement and participation will be sorely missed.
With that said, I would like to invite anyone interested in joining the Steering Committee to please contact me at chairperson@hhneighbors.com. We can discuss the responsibilities and requirements of our Steering Committee and how it helps guide our association for the betterment of the neighborhood.
Metro Planning Department – Rezonings in our neighborhood can create a lot of confusion and concern. Who’s doing what, where, and how can be most disruptive to our everyday lives. To date, I’ve tried to keep everyone informed of any cases coming before the Planning Commission and Metro Council. I do make available a current list of these cases at each of our General Membership meetings (third Thursday of every month), and I’ve kept the link updated (as posted in previous announcements). In addition, I will now update a page on this website whenever I check these cases. It can be found in the navigation bar on every page listed as “Metro Planning Cases”. Should you have any input or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly!
General Membership Meetings – These take place on the third Thursday of every month. The meetings are listed on the calendar (see the sidebar on this website or click “Calendar” on the navigation bar) and are held at Trinity Community Commons. While we’ve historically met in the Fellowship Hall, we’ve held the last few meetings in the Community Room. It’s smaller and easier to use as the acoustics are much more conducive to meetings like ours. To find us, enter the last door on the Meridian St side of the building and proceed to the end of the hall. This is your neighborhood association, and your attendance and participation in these meetings benefits you, your neighborhood leadership, and your neighbors. We hope to see you soon!
Gordon Stacy Harmon is the current chairperson of the HHNA Steering Committee.
